Job Summary

Ace Precision Machining is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for applying your knowledge of sheet metal forming to assist with the launch of new products and the continuous improvement of existing products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced understanding of engineering principles to perform defined portions of broader engineering projects, within cost, quality, delivery, and safety constraints.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in sheet metal forming, including deep draw hydroforming, expanding, hydraulic presses, brake presses, roll forming, and heat treating.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering projects using project management tools.
  • Apply lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify, support, and lead process validation, continuous improvement, and waste reduction projects.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Create complex manufacturing sketches or routings per customer specifications and Company standards.
  • Issue Engineering Change Notice to update routings, sketches, and work instructions to account for process changes.
  • Document clear and technically accurate explanations for all project and process changes.
  • Respond to internal customers in a timely manner and support all efforts to ensure products meet customer requirements.
  • Dispose of product and any rework that may result.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, including experience in sheet metal forming.
  • Experience in 3D modeling with SolidWorks or other software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred understanding of lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies and ability to apply statistical techniques in a manufacturing environment.
Language Skills

Ability to read English and interpret complex sketches, routings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders. Ability to appropriately respond to technical inquiries from regulatory agencies or other members of the business community.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to utilize mathematical concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and understand their applications.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Requires considerable initiative and decision-making judgment.
