Nursing Assistant Opportunity

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional care to seniors? We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard.

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long-term care. This role provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support.
  • Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Requirements

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
