Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer functions under the direction of the Manager or Lead/Chief Sonographer and is responsible for performing all cardiac imaging, including adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to function independently, and work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify proper clinician order for procedure
  • Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindicating conditions
  • Follow established procedures for the administration of Ultrasound Enhancing Agents
  • Ensure that all studies have proper patient identification
  • Review ultrasound images for clinically acceptable results and release patients
  • Assist other team members in all modalities when needed
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Medical Sonographer or Reg Cardiac Sonographer certification
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience in echocardiography

Work Environment
