POSITION SUMMARY:
The Practical Nursing Specialist is a qualified professional who has completed an accredited practical nursing program and holds a valid nursing license in the state of Ohio. This role involves providing nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program, with proof of medication administration certification.
- Active licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing to practice as a practical nurse.
- Recent experience in a hospital nursing environment within the last five years, or completion of a state-approved L.P.N. refresher course within the past year, or recent graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
- Successful completion of the Practical Nurse Orientation Program at Alliance Community Hospital.
- Current Basic Life Support (B.L.S.) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development through continuing education activities.
- Fulfillment of any additional educational prerequisites as specified at the time of employment.
- Proficiency in computer skills necessary for job functions, including familiarity with hospital support software, performance appraisal systems, educational platforms, and online health insurance enrollment.
- Certification in Senior Care Unit - Crisis Intervention and De-Escalation (CIDE) to be obtained within three months of employment.
