Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sleep Disorder Specialist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Sleep Disorder Specialist, you will be responsible for performing polysomnographic studies, monitoring patients, and documenting findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient data and prepare for polysomnographic studies
  • Hook patients up with electrodes and monitoring equipment, and perform pre-study calibrations
  • Monitor patients throughout the study, making notations on patient records every half hour
  • Remove electrodes at the end of the study and document post-study findings
  • Score polysomnographic studies according to AASM scoring criteria and forward data for interpretation to reading physicians
  • Perform inventory and collect data for monthly Performance Improvement reports
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and schedule proper repair or replacement
  • Participate in Journal Club and staff meetings
  • Maintain patient charts and files
  • Review sleep studies with physicians and staff
  • Perform mask fits and CPAP trials on patients
  • Participate in Health fairs
  • Perform monthly checks on Code Cart
  • Utilize the Epic hospital system
  • Assist with Direct Referral process and set-up of durable medical equipment
  • Complete back-ups and typing for interpretation process
  • Complete mandatory HUMC annual e-Learning
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
  • Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist
  • New Jersey State License for RPSGT or Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse
  • CPR certified
