Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Lactation Specialist to join our team at Southwest General. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, providing, and directing patient care and teaching, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, and collaborate with other healthcare members to ensure seamless care.
- Manage, coordinate, and track a quality lactation program and staff development, guiding and mentoring other OB staff members in educational matters.
- Serve as a consultant to all departments across the organization for services rendered to perinatal mothers, specifically lactation services.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by Ohio State Board of Nursing.
- Previous maternity nursing experience required, with a minimum of five (5) years experience educating patients in lactation services.
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification, as well as current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing and CPR certification.
