The Logistics Support Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the daily functions of the warehouse, which includes receiving, storing, and distributing goods and materials. This position ensures that warehouse operations are conducted efficiently and effectively, in compliance with all safety standards and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, examine, and confirm incoming deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Document and report any inconsistencies or damages.
- Organize and position materials or items on shelves, racks, or in bins following established sequences.
- Prepare and package orders for shipment according to client specifications.
- Ensure order accuracy and uphold quality standards.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to monitor and manage inventory.
- Conduct routine inventory checks and audits.
- Maintain precise records of inventory levels.
- Restock items as required.
- Safely and efficiently operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks as necessary.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Immediately report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
- Follow company policies and legal regulations.
- Collaborate with fellow warehouse personnel to achieve daily operational objectives.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Engage in training and development programs as required.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) or a willingness to learn.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Physical endurance and capacity to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working with ladders and at heights.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds with assistance.
