Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Mckenzie Valve & Machining LLC. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications and cut material with powered saws to match measurements.
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a welder.
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.).
  • A valid and active Driver's License is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to safely operate the overhead crane and forklift.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools such as grinder, hammer, wrench, and pry bar.
  • Ability to read prints and drawings.
  • Understanding of metric measurements and standard measurements.
  • Ability to work well with others including all levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and written.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Professional AWS Certification is a plus.
