The role is situated within the Ambulatory Imaging Division, focusing on delivering high-quality imaging services.
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
General Responsibilities
This position entails a range of responsibilities associated with operating radiographic machinery to conduct imaging procedures. The Ambulatory Imaging Division is dedicated to outpatient interventional radiology, ensuring that the clinic operates efficiently throughout the week, with no on-call duties required.
The individual will be expected to support the Ambulatory Radiology Division and undertake additional tasks as necessary, adhering to the defined scope of practice.
Essential Duties
- Operate X-Ray/C-Arm equipment to capture radiographs of specified anatomical regions, adjusting settings to comply with radiation safety protocols.
- Communicate procedures clearly to patients, ensuring they understand the process.
- Position patients appropriately for each imaging view, utilizing necessary assistance devices and protective gear.
- Ensure patient satisfaction and the quality of care, addressing any questions or concerns in a compassionate manner.
- Maintain the safety and comfort of patients during their time in care.
- Prepare sterile trays and equipment, adhering to sterile techniques.
- Assist radiologists during angiographic and interventional procedures, including instrument handling and equipment monitoring.
- Scrub in to facilitate the passage of catheters and guidewires.
- Process images accurately to ensure optimal quality and match them with the corresponding documentation for interpretation.
- Manage the charging of radiographic procedures and supplies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels and expiration dates of supplies, maintaining adequate stock as needed.
- Provide orientation and training to new technologists.
- Exhibit self-initiative and proactively address potential issues.
- Demonstrate effective communication with patients and the healthcare team, recognizing and responding to patient needs.
- Adhere to ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in the daily operations of the diagnostic department.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and clerical tasks as needed.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and external providers.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications
Education: Completion of a program that meets eligibility requirements for certification or currently holds the necessary certification.
Experience: Level I must achieve ARRT certification within a specified timeframe. Level II requires a minimum of two years as an Interventional Technologist. Level III necessitates at least four years of experience in the relevant specialty.
Certifications: ARRT certification in radiography and vascular interventional technology, along with BLS certification.
Skills: Proficiency in complex technology and the ability to assume leadership roles when necessary.
