Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Transport Nurse to join our team. As a Critical Care Transport Nurse, you will be responsible for providing emergency and critical care services during rotor, fixed wing, and surface transport to referring and receiving facilities and/or agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of individuals and document responses of prescribed therapies of patients under their care during the various phases of transport.
- Demonstrate clinical proficiency in the management of critically ill and injured patients, though ongoing evaluation, case review, and in-service training.
- Incorporate the understanding of flight physiology, environmental influence, and limitations of unstructured environments in the plan of care.
- Communicate with medical control nurse practitioner/physician for patient care issues and management strategies.
- Maintain self, equipment, vehicles, and aircraft in a mission-ready state at all times, immediately after the completion of each mission.
- Participate in the triage of patients and the assignment of appropriate modes of transport, with nurse practitioner oversight when assigned as the clinical coordinator.
- Participate in educational advancement and courses that are self-directed or as requested by the leadership, including public relations activities as assigned.
- BSN preferred. Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months of hire.
- Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) Board Certification, Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), or Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) or equivalent national certification required within 2 years of hire.
- TNCC Trauma Nurse Critical Care (TNCC) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) with supplemental training course required within 1 year of hire.
- Passport required for entry to Canada and international transports.
