Job Title: Maintenance Technician/Mechanic

Michael Holm and Associates is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician/Mechanic to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician/Mechanic to support our Baking Facility maintenance effort. The successful candidate will perform complex preventative maintenance procedures, predictive maintenance, and diagnose and repair complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned complex preventative maintenance work according to OBC standards, ensuring the highest quality of work and that each step is fully executed.
  • Develop techniques to properly diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  • Respond promptly to service calls, diagnose failures, and make required repairs.
  • Develop, perform, and instruct basic and advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair basic and advanced mechanical, electrical, and control system problems.
  • Develop and perform techniques for the proper preventative maintenance diagnoses and repairs for Production and Packaging Lines.
  • Use the CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) to enter and retrieve activity log information and reports, and develop maintenance recommendations based upon those reports.
  • Mentor other employees in the department, develop, and provide training on basic and advanced troubleshooting techniques and the proper care of material handling equipment.
  • Understand operations from the operator's point of view and use this understanding to evaluate system equipment efficiency.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) controls, PC equipment, and the electrical distribution system.
  • Adhere to safety standards by promoting a safe work environment through attending safety committees, training, and verifying all safety concerns are addressed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree in electrical, electronic, mechanical, or maintenance engineering technology preferred.
  • Eight (8) years light-industrial maintenance experience required; six (6) years light-industrial maintenance experience required with preferred degree.
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions to complete routine procedures and/or operate standard equipment.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and operation/maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and act as a knowledge resource to other employees.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, layout, fabrication, and repair practices as they apply to power transmission and conveyor belt applications.
  • Working knowledge of motors and motor control methods.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of the PLC and computer control circuits.
  • Ability to weld, burn, and solder.
  • Ability to read and create electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
