Precision Mold Fabrication Specialist

This position involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining plastic injection molds. As a key member of our production team, you will work closely with colleagues throughout the entire process, troubleshooting injection molds for repair work and managing multiple projects daily.

• Interpret prints for tooling modifications, accuracy, and improvements
• Assign work and ensure quality standards are met
• Perform preventive maintenance and recommend design changes to new and existing tools
• Work with all employees to continuously improve quality and production
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments
• Ability to work to tight tolerances
• Keep accurate records on all applicable documentation
• Maintain tooling inventory by notifying supervisors of parts needed
• Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase shop efficiencies
• Assist other tool makers as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree (A.A.) or certificate in tool & die - preferred
• Must have 3 years mold making experience
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as Blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• SolidWorks experience a plus
• Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, predictive maintenance, 5S, and related manufacturing best practices - preferred
• Frequently required standing
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
• Knowledge of hot runner systems and their respective controllers - preferred
• Must have Blueprint Reading
