Responsibilities
  • Examine patients and provide medical care in a correctional facility setting.
  • Implement and supervise on-site chronic clinics.
  • Consult with community medical providers to resolve issues and improve patient care.
  • Provide primary care and coordinate on and off-site care needs.
  • Supervise clinical services provided by professional and paraprofessional staff.
  • Record patient encounters in SOAP format.
  • Ensure timely countersigning of verbal or telephone orders.
  • Utilize in-house resources for treatment and resolution of problems.
  • Provide emergency treatment and respond to urgent or emergency situations.
  • Maintain proper certification for cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for individual judgment and actions.
  • Utilize standard precautions for invasive procedures and handling specimens.
  • Keep patient information confidential and respect patient privacy.
  • Abide by facility security regulations.
  • Hold a degree in medicine (M.D./D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
  • Be licensed to practice medicine and CDS certified.
  • Obtain a DEA-X within 6 weeks of hire.
