Job Title: Registered Nurse - Pediatrics

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children is a leading healthcare provider in Hawai'i, offering comprehensive care to women, infants, and children. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Carter Unit, a pediatric unit dedicated to providing individualized and family-centered care to patients from birth to approximately 6 to 8 years of age.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Pediatrics will provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient care in our Carter Unit. This includes providing complex medical/surgical care, care for medically fragile children, and restorative care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatrics and be able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing services to patients in the Carter Unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient care.
  • Function as an associate to a charge nurse and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Current Hawai'i Registered Nurse License.
  • One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in Pediatrics.
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
  • Current Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) CPR cards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) CPR cards.
  • Two (2) years recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in Pediatrics.
