We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to conduct medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This role requires strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in electronic documentation.
About the Role:
As a Medical Examiner, you will review medical records electronically through a web portal and perform focused, in-person physical exams on each Veteran. You will then electronically document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal. It is essential to note that this position does not involve making disability determinations; those decisions are made by the United States Veterans Administration. Your responsibilities will be limited to performing Disability Assessments on Veterans only, without treating or prescribing medication.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform independent medical assessments on 3-5 Veterans per day
* Analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions
* Utilize time management skills to stay on task and meet requirements
* Hold a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
* Proficiently use a computer for electronic documentation
Requirements:
* Current, unrestricted NP or PA (NCCPA accredited) license
* Meet credentialing requirements set forth by the VA

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
