Job Summary

Gentex Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair equipment during downtime situations, perform routine maintenance on equipment at scheduled intervals, and repair serviceable components offline.
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Develop and expand skills and knowledge by learning from and working with more experienced maintenance team members, and troubleshoot faulty equipment to root cause and make quality repairs.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Document work in Maintenance Management System and record repairs of faulty equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Keep accurate inventory records and assist in the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, and active participation in the Gentex sponsored Apprenticeship Program or 3+ years manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Understanding and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, remain stationary, and/or move about for 8 hours, ability to ascend ladders and traverse multiple building floors and areas, and ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CAD Software Experience: Experience working with CAD software.
  • PLC Programming Experience: Experience working with PLC programming.
  • Inventory Management Systems: Experience with inventory management systems.
