About the Role

Cohu is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and integrating electronics/electrical systems for semiconductor test handlers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in all phases of engineering projects, including design, testing, and documentation.
  • Support EtherCAT development and motor tuning.
  • Travel internationally to customer sites as necessary.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, including technical requirements, design verification tests, and testing procedures.
  • Generate ECOs and BOMs.
  • Research and identify substitutions for obsolete parts.
  • Participate in design and troubleshooting of electronic boards and wiring.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum four years of experience with a bachelor's degree or two years with a master's degree.
  • Detail-oriented professional with knowledge of EtherCAT protocol and Beckhoff Twin CAT.
  • Experience with Altium Designer and firmware development.
  • Knowledge of physics behind mechanical movements and ability to troubleshoot electronics.
  • Good technical writing skills and ability to learn complex software quickly.
Desirable Skills
  • Motor tuning experience and knowledge of PID loop operation.
  • Experience with Zuken E3 and advanced electronics troubleshooting.
  • Ability to understand technical standards and datasheets for operational amplifiers and MOSFETs.
