Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer specializing in bridges to join our team at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a key member of our transportation infrastructure team, you will apply sound engineering principles to create comprehensive engineering designs, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical correspondence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical correspondence to ensure overall technical integrity and accuracy.
  • Adhere to agency policies and engineering standards while executing duties.
  • Maintain compliance with established requirements, ensuring that all engineering outputs meet quality and accuracy standards.
Requirements
  • Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
  • Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (commonwealth title); or
  • Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
  • One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Special Requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
