Ophthalmic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at SEMEL VISION CARE. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our doctors in delivering top-notch eye care services.

• Conduct thorough patient histories and perform accurate pre-testing according to office policies and procedures.
• Assist doctors with minor procedures, prepare patients for laser and additional procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Triaging phone calls, refilling prescriptions, and performing back office procedures with efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide patient education in the office and on the telephone, ensuring appropriate documentation in charts.
• Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Cross-train in back and front office procedures, including inventory management and supply ordering.
• Assist with LASIK experience and other diagnostic testing as needed.
• Strong computer/typing skills (>50 wpm) and experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Strong personable skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and staff.
• Strong multitasking skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; COA, COT recommended but not mandatory.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours as needed.
