Position Summary:

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for capturing diagnostic images of various body parts and providing essential support within the imaging department. This role focuses on performing standard x-rays and fluoroscopy.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Communicates procedures to patients to ensure clarity and understanding, providing educational resources as needed.
  • Facilitates patient transport and verifies identities in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assists in the preparation of patients for radiological examinations by ensuring proper positioning.
  • Supports technologists with administrative tasks, including managing patient reports and records.
  • Adheres to radiation safety protocols to minimize unnecessary exposure.
  • Prepares and administers contrast agents and medications as permitted by regulations.
  • Monitors patients during procedures and reports any irregularities.
  • Ensures high-quality image submission to PACS, including accurate patient data.
  • Maintains equipment functionality and reports any issues promptly.
  • Contributes to the cleanliness and organization of the imaging department.
  • May perform limited CT procedures in urgent situations when necessary.
  • Maintains a vigilant and safe working environment.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of an Associate's degree or a radiology certification program.

Experience:

  • No prior experience is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular standing and walking.
  • Frequent visual acuity for close and distant objects.
  • Effective communication skills for patient interaction.
  • Ability to lift and move patients as necessary.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
