Counseling Professor

National Louis University seeks a qualified faculty member to join our Department of Counseling. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of our CACREP-accredited Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Doctor of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision programs. Your expertise will help shape the next generation of counseling professionals, and your passion for teaching and mentoring will inspire students to achieve their full potential.

• Teach core counseling courses, including didactic and clinical instruction, in a blended online format.
• Administer and supervise practicum and internship experiences, ensuring students receive hands-on training and guidance.
• Maintain active membership and involvement with relevant counseling professional organizations, staying current on industry developments and best practices.
• Advise students, providing guidance and support to help them navigate their academic and professional journeys.
• Participate in university service and contribute to the growth and development of our institution.
• Pursue professional development opportunities, staying current on industry trends and advancements.
• Engage in scholarly activities, publishing research and presenting at conferences to advance the field of counseling.
• Provide community engagement opportunities, fostering connections between our university and local communities.
• Maintain a campus presence, being available to students and colleagues as needed.

• Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision or equivalent from an accredited institution, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program.
• School counseling certification in Florida, preferred.
• Ability to teach in-person, blended, hybrid, and online formats.
• Experience in the field of counseling, with licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida (LMHC) within 12 months of hire and/or certification as a school counselor.
• Teaching experience in counseling, preferred.
• Evidence of experience in CACREP accreditation, beneficial.
• Ability to contribute to and collaborate with a diverse departmental faculty and student body.
