Job Summary:

The successful candidate will review public water system documentation, reports, and data to ensure compliance with Texas Commission on Water Quality (TCEQ) regulations and provide technical assistance to both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile documentation related to engineering report requirements and manage lead and copper sampling processes.
  • Research TCEQ rules, source water assessments, and utilize mapping tools for well and system evaluations.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers.
  • Conduct technical reviews of plans and specifications.
  • Prepare formal correspondence regarding plan reviews.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, public utilities, or a related field, with two years of full-time experience in engineering or technical reviews of public water systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in the specified fields, Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of TCEQ and Environmental Protection Agency regulations related to publicly owned treatment works.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze records and determine appropriate actions.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Competence in time management and meeting deadlines.
