About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Communication Assistant Professor at Augusta University. Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses in areas of expertise, including communication theory, media studies, and public speaking.
  • Maintain a vibrant record of research, focusing on topics relevant to communication and instructional design.
  • Engage in peer-reviewed research, publishing scholarly articles and presenting at conferences.
  • Provide outstanding service to the department, college, and university, participating in committee work and contributing to departmental initiatives.

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Communication, Mass Communication, or Media Studies, or a closely related discipline, is essential for this position. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong background in communication theory, research methods, and instructional design. Additionally, they should possess excellent teaching skills, a proven track record of research productivity, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in teaching communication courses, particularly in areas such as media analytics, instructional design, and digital storytelling, would be beneficial. Knowledge of and ability to teach emerging technologies, such as multimedia production, are also desirable. A strong commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom is essential for this role.
