Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality ultrasound imaging services to patients. Your expertise will be essential in preparing ultrasound rooms and diagnostic equipment, performing high-quality testing, and developing films. You will exercise professional judgment and uphold medical ethics in the performance of diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Testing: Perform quality images through clinical protocols and position patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, respecting patient comfort and ability.
  • Computer System: Ensure patient information is accurately inputted into the departmental computer system, check-in patients for the appropriate radiological procedure, and complete patient procedures as directed.
  • Customer Service: Provide timely, responsive, expert services to customers in a positive and friendly manner, including patients, physicians, and fellow employees.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED
  • License, Certification, Registration: Basic Life Support required at hire, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate required at hire from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
  • Experience: Experience in a hospital setting, customer service and problem-solving skills, knowledge of radiation safety, safety precautions, and infection control practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: One (1) year of ultrasound experience
