Job Title: Family Law Associate

We are seeking a seasoned Family Law Associate to join our dynamic team at Jobot. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and passionate professional who is ready to take their career to the next level.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of complex family law matters, including divorce, custody, and litigation. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a diverse caseload of family law matters from inception through conclusion.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
  • Representing clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies.
  • Providing compassionate and practical legal advice to clients during potentially stressful life events.
  • Collaborating with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the efficient and effective handling of cases.
  • Participating in business development activities to attract new clients and maintain relationships with existing clients.
Requirements:
  • A J.D. degree from an accredited law school and be in good standing with the state bar.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family law, with a demonstrated ability to handle a variety of family law matters.
  • Experience with divorce cases, including complex property division and high-conflict custody disputes.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and courtroom experience.
  • The ability to manage a heavy caseload and work well under pressure.
  • A client-focused approach, with a commitment to providing high-quality legal services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Proficiency in using legal research databases and other legal software.
