We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating across all engineering teams to define, design, and document Test Environment capabilities and requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Apply your knowledge of subsystems to collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop and implement subsystem models using Model Based System Engineering tools and methods.
- Detail capabilities and derive requirements to ensure robust and efficient test environments.
- Communicate test equipment needs and requirements to Test Equipment designers to ensure seamless integration.
- Manage requirements and traceability to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Leverage and apply reuse of Test Environment requirements and models to promote efficiency in test design and development.
- Develop subsystem requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and architecture to ensure effective test environments.
- Interact with Technical SMEs as necessary to fully understand subsystems, including identifying and resolving issues and supporting related subsystem trades or analysis.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years' prior relevant experience OR an advanced degree and 3 years of experience.
- Experience in Systems Engineering or other Engineering discipline such as but not limited to emphasis in test requirements development, test methodologies, test requirements documents, integration, verification, and/or validation for test.
- Experience with developing, decomposing, and/or managing system requirements across a product lifecycle such as design and transition to production.
- Experience with test-related activities throughout the product lifecycle.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) demonstrated experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) tools, such as IBM Rational Manager/Rhapsody.
- Experience in developing Integrated Test and Evaluation Plans.
- Knowledge of Model Based Engineering processes, techniques, and tools (Rhapsody and IBM Rational Model Manager and/or Cameo Systems Modeler/Enterprise Architect and Teamwork Cloud preferred, with understanding of Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and/or Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering standard views such as Block Definition Diagrams, Context Diagrams, Use Case Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, and Activity Diagrams.
- Knowledge of embedded test techniques, design for test, design margin analysis, and/or design for manufacturing.
- Experience with Agile processes and techniques.
- Experience with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).
- Experience with development, environmental, qualification, production, manufacturing operations testing.
- Experience with Systems Integration, test execution, and test results documentation.
- Experience problem solving and debugging.
- Experience recognizing areas of improvement or customer needs and relaying them to senior staff as business development possibilities.
- Experience working with customers, end users, hardware design teams, and software design teams.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, prudent risk-taking and adaptive response to challenges.
- Depending on level of experience, you will provide mentoring and guidance to other team members.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
