Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty - Chemistry Instructor to join our team. As a Chemistry Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching a range of chemistry courses to students with varying levels of experience and skills. You will work closely with colleagues to develop curriculum, assess student learning outcomes, and participate in departmental activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of chemistry courses to students, including introductory and advanced classes.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and revise curriculum that aligns with industry standards.
  • Participate in recruitment and articulation activities to promote the Physical Science department and build relationships with local schools and universities.
Requirements

To be successful as an Adjunct Faculty - Chemistry Instructor, you must possess:

  • A Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry and a Master's degree in a related field (such as Chemical Engineering, Physics, Molecular Biology, or Geochemistry).
  • Possession of a valid credential authorizing full-time teaching of Chemistry at the California Community College level.
  • The equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Salary and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $65.00 per hour, with the potential for higher rates based on the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
