**Job Summary:**
We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated student nurses to participate in our Nurse Extern program at SSM Health. As a Nurse Extern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical training and develop your nursing skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Complete patient care tasks based on skills deemed competent in nursing school.
- Contribute to overall quality and safe care for patients by monitoring their behavior and physical condition.
- Assist patients with their activities of daily living, including bathing, ambulating, feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Perform procedures such as dressing changes, enemas, and collection of biological specimens.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Stock and maintain supplies and equipment in keeping with patient care needs and cost containment.
Requirements:
- Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing.
- Completion of first clinical rotation.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.
