Job Summary:

The School District is seeking a skilled School Nurse to provide healthcare services to students and staff. The ideal candidate will possess an active IL Registered Nurse License and be CPR/AED Certified.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts and/or supervises school health screening
• Supervises identification and referral of students in need of medical and dental care
• Consults with parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics and other agencies on school health matters
• Observes students to detect health needs
• Visits student homes when necessary
• Participates with Administration and School Staff in developing and implementing the total school health program
• Assists in the development and maintenance of school health policy
• Prepares and submits health data and reports including health histories, as required
• Supervises exclusion and re-admission of students with infectious and contagious diseases
• Provides in-service and advises teachers on health matters, as needed
• Conducts health instruction in the building and other health topics as requested
• Administers any medical treatment and/or medication given to students while attending school
• Complies with federal, state and district policies and procedures pertaining to health issues
• Ensures adequate supplies are purchased and available
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned

Working Conditions:

• School Environment
• Full-Time Monday - Friday
• School Hours
