Thar Energy, LLC is a key entity within the Thar organization, established in 1990. Renowned globally, Thar specializes in green, all-natural supercritical fluid processing across various sectors including energy, pharmaceuticals, food, and chemicals.

Role Summary:

Thar Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer, focusing on equipment featuring dynamic components such as pumps and turbines, along with compact heat exchangers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, analyze, and evaluate mechanical systems including pumps, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
  • Ensure accurate definition and implementation of mechanical components (bearings, seals, etc.) in designs.
  • Create 3D models and 2D technical drawings for equipment assembly and parts, ensuring manufacturability with existing fabrication methods.
  • Conduct GD&T and tolerance stack-ups to guarantee proper assembly and functionality of equipment parts.
  • Perform finite element analysis to validate designs.
  • Collaborate with vendors and project stakeholders.
  • Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills to operate independently and within team settings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years or a master's degree with 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D solid modeling software such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Familiarity with fabrication techniques and design for manufacturability.
  • Ability to develop and produce project and component documentation, including equipment drawings, process flow diagrams, bills of materials, project timelines, and manuals.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with ANSYS Workbench.
  • Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
  • Familiarity with pressure vessel codes.
  • Experience in new product development and project management.
  • Proficiency in GD&T and high-precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • A self-motivated individual who thrives in a small company environment, embracing creativity and opportunities for growth in developing new technologies.
