Job Summary

Clarkston Medical Group is seeking a skilled Medical Biller and Coder to join our team in a dynamic in-office position. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our medical billing and coding processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify Medical Record Documentation: Accurately review and verify the accuracy of medical record documentation, assigning appropriate CPT codes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Code Accuracy and Compliance: Review ICD-10 codes for accuracy, sequencing, and specificity, and add modifiers as necessary to ensure accurate and compliant coding.
  • Claims Processing: Submit clean claims for payment, identify and resolve errors, and refile denied or rejected claims in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Patient Communication: Respond to patient inquiries, resolve billing complaints, and provide excellent customer service to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Financial Management: Process patient payments, prepare daily deposits, and maintain accurate financial records.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification with a minimum of two years of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, CPT II, and HCPCS coding and documentation requirements, as well as medical terminology and electronic medical record (EMR) software.
  • Administrative Skills: Proficient in administrative and clerical procedures, including word processing, spreadsheets, and inventory management.
