Medication Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medication Technician to join our team at Vibra Healthcare. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with their medication needs, while also providing support with daily living activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with medication administration, including supervising and recording medications
  • Provide support with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, consultants, and other healthcare professionals
  • Make physician appointments and arrange transportation as needed
  • Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with state regulations, filing necessary reports, and assisting in training new employees
  • Respond to emergency alert calls and maintain the safety and well-being of residents
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
  • Ability to follow departmental safety, sanitation, and hazardous waste procedures and regulations
  • Ability to understand and respect confidential nature of resident charts and medical information
  • Ability to deal with residents and co-workers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to deal with emergencies in a composed manner
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions
