Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
  • Assist anesthesiologists, residents, and CRNAs in preparing equipment and ensuring its cleanliness and availability.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Operate the cellsaver machine, track lab reports, and participate in advanced surgical cases.
  • Work directly with specialized faculty members and provide on-call coverage.
  • Ensure anesthesia equipment is in good working order and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Set up and operate sophisticated equipment and perform advanced troubleshooting.
  • Train staff in the roles and responsibilities of an Anesthesia Technologist.
  • Perform equipment setup and troubleshooting, including testing infusion pumps and calibrating anesthesia machines.
  • Collaborate with other hospital units to ensure the availability of specialized anesthesia equipment.
  • Provide backup to the shift supervisor in their absence.

Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technologist.
  • Certification by a nationally recognized professional certifying body for Anesthesia Technologists.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A four-year college education, including related technical training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
