Job Description

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Medical Professional Support Specialist to join our team at St. Charles Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential support to physicians and patients, ensuring seamless clinical operations and excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians with daily patient flow, including escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for physician assessment.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and perform various administrative tasks to support clinical operations.
  • Support physicians with phone requests from patients and other medical professionals, providing exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Perform procedures as requested by physicians, excluding IV medication administration.
  • Maintain equipment, instruments, and supply inventory levels, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Contribute to lean principles and continuous improvement efforts, driving excellence in patient care and workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Conduct all activities with professionalism and confidentiality, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and respect.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Medical Assistant certification or licensure is preferred.
  • AHA Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of ICD-10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding is essential.
  • Familiarity with medical practice management information systems is beneficial.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and meet HIPAA requirements is critical.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
