Join Gannett Fleming as a Senior Wastewater Engineer
Gannett Fleming is seeking a skilled Wastewater Engineer with robust technical knowledge to enhance our Water/Wastewater division. This role will focus on delivering engineering support for municipal projects.
The successful candidate will engage in the design of water distribution networks and facilities, including treatment plants and booster pump stations, as well as wastewater collection systems and other municipal engineering projects. The ideal applicant should demonstrate the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team to advance project goals. Experience with large diameter water line projects and water modeling is advantageous. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring three days per week at our office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project teams on the planning, design, and oversight of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Engage with clients, deliver presentations, and coordinate project activities.
- Manage work activities among various technical staff and consultants, establishing and enforcing study and design standards, leading progress meetings, and tracking project timelines and budgets.
- Communicate effectively with municipalities and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee construction contract management and provide observation services.
- Prepare necessary reports and permit applications.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in water or wastewater engineering, particularly in designing infrastructure.
- Proven experience in evaluating, designing, permitting, and managing construction for water distribution systems and facilities.
- Experience with large diameter water line projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD software.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of effective client presentations and report writing.
- A collaborative leader with strong organizational skills.
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Familiarity with BIM and Bluebeam software.
- Experience in water modeling.
