About the Role

The Medical Imaging Specialist performs a variety of imaging examinations under the direction of a physician. Key responsibilities include producing high-quality x-ray images, positioning and instructing patients regarding x-ray procedures, and maintaining patient information for accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist, ensuring clear and undistorted films.
  • Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures, prioritizing their comfort and safety.
  • Maintain patient information, including purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files to ensure accurate patient records.
  • Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents, monitoring dosages and determining potential allergies to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with successful completion of an approved radiological training program and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association is also required.
  • At least one year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department is preferred.
