Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct audiological evaluations and assessments under the direct supervision of a licensed professional, utilizing diagnostic tests and adhering to departmental guidelines.
  2. Implement appropriate techniques and methodologies using specialized diagnostic equipment.
  3. Formulate recommendations for aural rehabilitation in line with departmental standards.
  4. Select and dispense hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive devices as necessary.
  5. Create educational materials for families and healthcare professionals as needed.
  6. Interpret test results and communicate findings effectively to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  7. Assist in the diagnosis and management of auditory disorders.
  8. Provide counseling to patients and families regarding hearing loss and rehabilitation options, including technology and educational resources.
  9. Engage in administrative tasks within the department.
  10. Report any issues related to equipment and supplies to senior staff.
  11. Maintain accurate records of clinical activities and submit reports to the primary supervisor regularly.
  12. Uphold professional standards in accordance with ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  13. Participate in educational initiatives, research projects, and community outreach as assigned.
  14. Fulfill all requirements of the interdisciplinary Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Program.
  15. Develop an Individualized Training Plan (ITP) outlining projects and assignments for the year.
  16. Attend all mandatory lectures and actively participate in selected practica.
  17. Complete all necessary LEND documentation promptly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Enrollment in an Au.D. program Preferred

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve clinical and research challenges.
  • Proficient in various audiological assessment techniques, particularly for pediatric patients.
  • Basic research skills with a foundational understanding of research methodologies.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization preferred.
