About the Role:

The Operations Supervisor - Fleet Maintenance is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet maintenance operations. This role requires a strong leader who can manage a team of technicians, customer service coordinators, and other support staff to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage workflow, including work analysis, planning, and scheduling, to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Supervise and train technicians, customer service coordinators, and other support staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Ensure all warranty policies and procedures are executed, and troubleshoot issues related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Manage customer relationships, including issue resolution, customer satisfaction, and retention, to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Directly supervise and manage the appearance and maintenance of assigned locations, including sustaining 65 standards in all relevant shop areas of responsibility.
  • Assist in the management and oversight of vehicle specifications and vehicle in-service/out-service process.
  • Ensure all vehicles have required specifications in SAM, and manage parts inventory, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform quality inspections of PM and repairs, and conduct root cause analysis to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure cleanliness and quality of repair for all maintained vehicles, and work with the Service Manager to ensure all technicians are properly trained and qualified.
  • Manage shop floor activities to ensure proper root cause diagnosis by technicians and optimize yield on all parts/components.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Quality Assurance Audit Corrective Action plans and Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Ensure employee compliance with safety and EPA regulations and requirements.
  • Manage financial aspects of the role, including ensuring shift/shop delivers against Net Maintenance Cost per Unit objectives without sacrificing quality, safety, or customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for cost control measures related to maintenance operations budget and location P&L statement to meet financial objectives.
  • Responsible for successful execution of Maintenance Initiatives to attain or exceed specified financial targets.
  • Responsible for payroll, purchase order approval, and invoice reconciliation, as warranted.
  • Responsible for the customer bill back process, including identification, review, and approval of bill back opportunities.
  • Ensure data integrity in the Shop Management Online system.

Requirements:

  • H.S. diploma/GED required.
  • Associate's degree preferred or 1-3 years or more experience in a maintenance operations environment required.
  • Demonstrated success in a Ryder role may be substituted for this requirement.
  • Maintenance and Technical experience in a shop environment required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with a Shop Management System preferred.
  • Microsoft Office intermediate preferred.
