Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Attorney to join our team at Truce Law. As a Family Attorney, you will play a critical role in helping our clients navigate the complex and often emotional process of family law.

Your primary responsibility will be to handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings. You will also communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process. Additionally, you will ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed
  • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases
  • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by thoroughly understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, and developing strategic action plans
  • Represent clients in court proceedings as required
  • Regularly audit your active matters and provide clients with a monthly case update to keep them informed and maintain good communication
  • Collaborate closely with the Mentoring Attorney to brainstorm case strategies and best options for our client
  • Review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders
  • Lead your legal pod, including paralegals and legal assistants, while fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Engage actively in legal team meetings and one-on-one meetings with the Mentoring Attorney to promote both individual and team growth

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background
  • 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
  • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
  • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
  • Current Washington State Bar License is mandatory
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a solid understanding of family law issues
  • Lives in the state of Washington is a requirement
