Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring public safety and safeguarding property while maintaining peace
- Conducting patrols in designated areas to prevent criminal activity and enforce regulations
- Employing analytical skills, creativity, and innovative strategies to address community issues
- Responding to urgent calls and taking action to manage emergency situations
- Monitoring surroundings and remaining vigilant to detect suspicious activities
- Managing traffic during special events, accidents, and road detours
- Documenting incidents thoroughly and completing all necessary reports and forms
- Intervening in conflicts and mediating disputes to avert violence
- Detaining and arresting individuals involved in criminal activities, investigating crime scenes, questioning suspects, interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, and providing testimony in court
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old at the time of certification
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be a United States Citizen at the time of the written examination
- Additional requirements include passing a comprehensive background investigation, having uncorrected vision of no less than 20-20, normal hearing, clear speech, and proficiency in handling firearms
