Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for conducting fundamental radiographic examinations. This role emphasizes the importance of radiation safety protocols to ensure the delivery of high-quality imaging services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts radiologic examinations as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Performs standard imaging procedures in line with departmental protocols.
  • Reviews requisitions for any physician directives and specific instructions.
  • Collaborates with radiologists or physicians as needed for optimal patient care.
  • Determines appropriate radiation exposure based on patient characteristics.
  • Operates imaging equipment in accordance with the requirements of each examination.
  • Assists in the upkeep of comprehensive patient documentation.

Physical Demands

This position requires significant physical activity, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, and bending. The ability to lift and support up to 75 pounds is essential for managing patients and medical apparatus. Candidates must possess a complete range of sensory capabilities, including sight, hearing, smell, touch, and manual dexterity. The ability to maintain focus and respond swiftly to changing patient and clinical situations is crucial.

Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program is mandatory. Current ARRT registration (or eligibility) is necessary, with a preference for candidates with one year of relevant experience.
