Pharmacist / Rotating Shift

Mass General Brigham seeks a skilled Pharmacist to join our team in a Rotating Shift role. As a key member of our patient care team, you will be responsible for preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications to patients according to laws and regulations governing pharmacists and pharmacy practice.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to pharmacist and ancillary support staff, promoting professional behavior and attitudes.
- Staffing and Competency: Direct and coordinate efficient delivery of pharmacy services, supervise and verify accuracy of work completed by support personnel, and provide drug information and consultation to healthcare professionals.
- Quality and Safety: Interpret and implement departmental policies and procedures, ensure compliance with target drug programs, and document and report clinical interventions and medication errors.
- Technology: Utilize area-specific technology, troubleshoot and mitigate short-term issues, and maintain professional expertise through membership and participation in professional organizations.
- Education: Attend and participate in departmental and change of shift staff meetings, M&M rounds, staff development and continuing education activities, and maintain professional expertise through membership and participation in professional organizations.
Eligibility for licensure to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, completion of 20 continuing education credits per year to maintain license, and completion of safety training and competency assessments are required. Credentialed pharmacists working under CDTM agreements must also meet additional requirements.
Skills and AbilitiesGood verbal and written interpersonal communication skills, ability to motivate and supervise support personnel, prioritize and organize work, and pay attention to detail are essential. Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacotherapy and ability to work collaboratively as a member of the patient care team are also required.
Working ConditionsRotating shifts or per ambulatory care site's needs, with occasional exposure to infectious diseases and preparation and dispensing of carcinogenic, mutagenic, and sensitizing medications. Standing or walking 95% of the time and lifting and carrying moderately heavy supplies about 5% of job duties are also required.
