Job Description

At Highway Inn, we're seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our kitchen team as a Dishwasher. As a key member of our crew, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial dishwashers, sinks, and other equipment to ensure all dishes, glasses, and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Inspect all items after washing to guarantee they meet our high standards of cleanliness.
  • Efficiently put away and return washed and sanitized items to their designated storage areas.
  • Assist with clearing, cleaning, and setting tables as needed.
  • Participate in stocking, cleaning, and prepping back and front of house areas.
  • Contribute to opening and closing work area procedures, adhering to our expected standards.
  • Support food preparation functions as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience necessary, but previous work in catering or restaurant service is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong attendance record.
  • A positive attitude and ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk continuously for long periods, often up to 10 hours a day, in a high-humidity, high-heat environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Required to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Expected to communicate clearly and efficiently with co-workers and managers.
