Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Weatherization Energy Auditor/Quality Control Inspector to join our team at the South Central Community Action Program, Inc. (SCCAP). As a key member of our Weatherization program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the rehabilitation and weatherization of homes in low-income housing meet the highest standards of quality and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct residential energy audits on homes in the Weatherization program to identify energy savings opportunities and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Agency regulations.
  • Supervise and instruct technicians and independent contractors to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to program guidelines.
  • Perform lead-based paint inspections and prepare associated reports to ensure a safe and healthy environment for clients.
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure all work performed meets the required standards and is completed according to the work order.
  • Responsible for security and maintenance of equipment used in the Weatherization department and ensure agency vehicles are clean and organized.
  • Instruct clients in energy conservation and residential heating health and safety issues to empower them to reach their potential.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, supplemented by a reasonable knowledge of residential construction and tools.
  • Previous experience in carpentry, construction, contracting, home rehabilitation, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Some knowledge of residential HVAC systems and the ability to learn necessary fundamentals as program requires.
  • Skilled in the use of computers for email, virtual meeting apps, Microsoft Office, and specialized energy auditing software.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle with required liability insurance for use in business-related travel.
  • Ability to obtain Indiana Skills Verification (ISV) Energy Auditor Certification within one year of hire and Building Performance Institute Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector certifications within two years of hire.
