This role will oversee and mentor a team of Project Accountants, ensuring comprehensive accounting support and oversight for designated projects and/or offices, as well as providing general accounting and administrative assistance for corporate accounting functions. The Project Accounting Manager serves as the main accounting contact for project managers and operational staff, reporting directly to the VP of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage full cycle accounting and administrative support for assigned projects, including project/contract initiation, client billing, accounts payable, job costing, labor allocation, and project completion.
  • Evaluate existing processes and collaborate with the VP of Finance to enhance these processes for improved efficiency.
  • Organize and maintain accounting documentation related to projects.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and coordinators to support the management of assigned projects.
  • Generate and distribute monthly job cost reports and project profitability analyses.
  • Review and process subcontractor payment requests in Textura, ensuring compliance with contract stipulations, modifications, lien waivers, and insurance prerequisites.
  • Assist with project and corporate audits and support subcontractor default claims.
  • Investigate and resolve inquiries or issues related to assigned projects and/or offices.
  • Support management with project and accounting-related inquiries.
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in project/job cost accounting, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Textura or similar subcontract management tools such as GC Pay or Procore Pay is essential.
  • A strong aptitude for modern systems, processes, and technology is required.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel and Word are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines; strong organizational skills are essential.
  • A robust work ethic and a positive, proactive attitude are crucial.
