Emergency Services Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Services Director to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of our emergency department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and driving strategic initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement clinical practice guidelines and standards to ensure optimal patient care
- Provide direct patient care as needed to evaluate department services and patient outcomes
- Collaborate with resources to ensure efficient accounting operations for purchases, payment for services, and prior authorizations
- Supervise staff, including orientation, credentialing, competency completion, and continuing education
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care activities, regulatory requirements, data collection, and statistical reporting
- Prepare reports, proposals, and related documents for administrative and service needs
- Maintain current knowledge of industry safety and perform ongoing assessment of the environment for safety compliance
We are looking for a candidate with a Master's Degree in a related field and at least 5 years of directly related experience. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency services, clinical operations, and leadership.
Certifications in CPR for Healthcare, BLS, and RN licensure in New Mexico or a reciprocal agreement are required. Additional certifications in TNCC, ENPC, APLS, NALS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, or related fields are preferred.
The selected candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate exposure to chemicals and dangerous equipment. A valid driver's license and ability to travel may be required.
