Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Class A CDL driver to join our team at Metalico. As a Local CDL Class A Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering and picking up materials at customer yards, Metalico yards, and mill sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive trucks in a safe manner at all times, monitoring road and traffic conditions to prevent accidents.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on every truck driven daily, ensuring all loads are properly secured and tied down.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and turn it in daily at the end of each workday.
  • Pick up and deliver containers at customer sites on a timely and efficient basis.
  • Monitor mechanical functions of the truck and report any issues to management.
Requirements
  • Current Driver's License/Medical Card required.
  • Class A license required.
  • Three-sided car hauler experience required.
  • Roll Off experience is preferred.
  • Tractor Trailer-Frameless Dump Trailer experience preferred.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include:

  • Unloading and loading products on trailers.
  • Lifting products and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally).
  • Operating a tractor-trailer (move, position).
  • Climbing in and out of a tractor cab and trailer.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time in a truck tractor.
  • Walking and standing on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery.
