About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective preparation and dispensing of medications to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Compounds and prepares medications, including high-risk medication processes, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Delivers medications to patient areas and returns unused medications to the pharmacy.
  • Documents pharmaceutical activities, including patient billing and quality control requirements, using automated and paper systems.
  • Responds to customer requests for assistance with pharmacy services, such as medication delivery and drug information.
  • Operates and supports automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients.
  • Orders, receives, restocks, and rotates inventory, and completes expiration date management.
  • Assists with training of new employees and contributes to process improvement projects.
  • Completes regulatory compliance inspections of medication storage areas and controlled substance inventories.
Requirements
  • Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
  • CPhT certification from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
