We are seeking a highly skilled Physician III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our medical services department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and treat individuals with complex medical, psychiatric, and/or behavioral health needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless integration of medical services.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support.
- Participate in treatment team process, advocating for the medical needs of individuals served.
- Provide direction and guidance to treatment teams, ensuring effective problem-solving and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain accurate and timely documentation, including annual summaries and pre-procedural histories.
- Prepare annual medical reports for residents, including complete assessments and yearly objectives.
- Monitor medical trends for individual patients and the SSLC as a whole, providing leadership to correct deficiencies.
- Knowledge of methods and procedures in general medicine, as well as individualized care and treatment plans.
- Knowledge of medical jurisprudence and ICF-IID standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with nurses, direct care staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to evaluate patients and implement effective treatment plans in coordination with other personnel.
- Ability to maintain required continuing medical education hours.
