Job Summary

CenterLight Health System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our medical team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our patients and overseeing the medical aspects of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the medical care and treatment of patients
  • Oversee and support the care rendered by other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Collaborate with site NP community-based primary care providers on shared population
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, cost, and utilization of care
  • Carry a caseload of patients as PCP and participate in direct medical care
  • Lead the medical presence during start of care events
  • Develop and participate in utilization review of medical services
  • Develop and supervise provision of ambulatory medical services
  • Serve as liaison with other medical institutions and develop relationships with subspecialists and community physicians
  • Facilitate medical education programs for staff, trainees, and students
  • Provide in-service staff development and clinical teaching of trainees rotating through the Medical practice
  • Participate in developing preventive health screening, immunization programs, professional community outreach, quality assurance, etc.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of medicine
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • Board Certification or experience in Geriatric Medicine
  • Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • Current active unrestricted license to practice medicine in NYS
  • Be legally authorized to practice in the State in which the healthcare professional will perform the function
  • Must have a Medicaid Provider ID and a Medicare Provider ID in good standing

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting/Push/Pull - Up to 50 pounds of equipment, baggage, supplies, and ability to lift patients safely and using OSHA guidelines, etc.
  • Bending/Squatting - Must be able to safely bend or squat to care for patients, use medical supplies, etc.
  • Stairs/Steps/Walking/Climbing - Must be able to safely maneuver stairs, climb up/down, and walk to access work areas
  • Agility/Fine Motor Skills - Must demonstrate agility and fine motor skills to operate and activate equipment, devices, instruments, and tools (ie. typing, use of medical supplies, equipment, etc.)
  • Sight/Visual Requirements - Must be able to visually assess patients, read orders type/write documentation, etc.
  • Audio Hearing and Motor Skills (Language) Requirements - Must be able to listen attentively and document information from patients, community members, providers, etc., and intake information through audio processing with accuracy.
  • Cognitive Ability - Must be able to demonstrate good decision-making, reasonableness, cognitive ability, rational processing, and analysis to satisfy essential functions of the job.
